Despite getting the name slightly garbled (the piece is called The Promises of Isaiah the Prophet not “The Settings…”) reviewer Brian Morton, writing for British publication Choir & Organ, refers to my piece as “a bit of a revelation” and correctly notes that the Thomas Tallis work which precedes it on this new recording was the creative impetus for the work. The Renaissance Men (for whom I served as Composer-in-Residence for several years) did a splendid job of capturing the essence of this substantial piece with lustrous sound, a polished ensemble and careful attention to detail. Everything else on this project is equally well done and the recording merits your attention. Available on Amazon and through other suppliers.
